Get started

One-command install (macOS / Linux)

# Latest Electron release
curl -fsSL https://voicestudio.sh/install | sh

# A specific published Electron release (replace X.Y.Z)
curl -fsSL https://voicestudio.sh/install | sh -s -- --version X.Y.Z

# Build current main and install the desktop app
curl -fsSL https://voicestudio.sh/install | sh -s -- --main

# Uninstall the app, keeping your data
curl -fsSL https://voicestudio.sh/install | sh -s -- --uninstall

On Windows, run irm https://voicestudio.sh/install | iex in PowerShell. Release downloads require curl and a SHA-256 tool. --main requires Git, Node.js 22+, Bun, Rust/Cargo, and platform build tools; see installer prerequisites and behavior. The installer preserves your settings, projects, and models. Older versions must contain Electron packages; it never falls back to archived Tauri builds.

Or download from Releases (macOS .dmg, Windows .exe, Linux .AppImage or .deb) and follow your platform guide:

macOS · Windows · Linux · Docker

Hardware Support
NVIDIA GPU (Windows / Linux) CUDA acceleration
Apple Silicon Metal (MPS) acceleration
No dedicated GPU (Intel/AMD integrated graphics, older PCs) Fully usable on the CPU, slower; setup installs the small CPU build of PyTorch (about 5 GB free disk)
Windows on ARM (Snapdragon X etc.) Experimental, validation pending: native ARM64 app, x64 Python backend under emulation, CPU only
Intel Mac App UI only; connect to a remote backend (why)

Open Voice cloning, choose a voice or add a clean reference recording, enter your text, and generate. Install the required model when prompted. Hardware needs vary by engine; see performance.

Install with prompt

Paste into your coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, …):

Install the VoiceStudio Electron app on this device and verify it works, following
https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/blob/main/docs/install/agent.md

The agent guide covers hardware detection, reusing existing data, asking before model downloads, and a test generation. Agents that support skills can also run npx skills add debpalash/VoiceStudio.

Run the Electron preview from source
git clone https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio.git
cd VoiceStudio
bun install
bun run setup:api # prepare Python dependencies before starting Electron
bun run dev

See Electron setup for prerequisites and backend configuration.

Use bun run smoke-test to build and launch an isolated packaged Electron app. Add -- --install for the networked managed-runtime installation check.

Electron is the only desktop app and web UI. Version 0.5.3 was the final Tauri release. Existing Tauri users must install Electron separately. The retired Tauri shell and legacy UI entry points have been removed.

**VoiceStudio now talks to your other tools.** Answer Twilio phone calls in a saved voice, and connect Claude Code, Cursor, Codex CLI and the OpenAI Agents SDK to VoiceStudio with copyable setup that works, including in Docker, where MCP previously returned HTTP 405. Integration cards now say plainly which ones work with VoiceStudio and which are external links. This release also lets you replace a saved clone's reference sample, clones long reference clips on OmniVoice, finishes long audiobook chapters on 8 GB GPUs, and keeps rendered chapters through a power-off or data-folder move. **Download** | Platform | Installer | | --- | --- | | Windows x64 | [Installer](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.6/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.6-win-x64.exe) | | macOS Apple Silicon | [DMG](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.6/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.6-mac-arm64.dmg) | | macOS Intel | [DMG](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.6/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.6-mac-x64.dmg) | | Linux x64 | [AppImage](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.6/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.6-linux-x64.AppImage

  2. **Your voice, another language.** The Clone workspace now keeps your chosen output language when changing voice samples. For example, an English reference can read a French script with a multilingual engine; Auto in Clone follows the script instead of inheriting the reference profile's language. This release also makes Electron installation easier to recover, fixes script-editor and integration-catalog glitches, and makes failure reports more useful. **Download** | Platform | Installer | | --- | --- | | Windows x64 | [Installer](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.5/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.5-win-x64.exe) | | macOS Apple Silicon | [DMG](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.5/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.5-mac-arm64.dmg) | | macOS Intel | [DMG](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.5/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.5-mac-x64.dmg) | | Linux x64 | [AppImage](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.5/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.5-linux-x64.AppImage) · [deb](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.5/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.5-linux-x64.deb) | **Upgrading:** Install over

  3. **Working engines, smoother long-form audio, and useful local integrations.** CosyVoice repairs its runtime and preserves speech context with newer Transformers. Stories and audiobooks gain cleaner audio joins, better script controls, and more reliable EPUB imports. Electron setup and diagnostics make failures easier to recover from without discarding downloaded models or existing projects. **Download** | Platform | Installer | | --- | --- | | Windows x64 | [Installer](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.4/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.4-win-x64.exe) | | macOS Apple Silicon | [DMG](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.4/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.4-mac-arm64.dmg) | | macOS Intel | [DMG](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.4/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.4-mac-x64.dmg) | | Linux x64 | [AppImage](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.4/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.4-linux-x64.AppImage) · [deb](https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/releases/download/v0.5.4/VoiceStudio-Electron-0.5.4-linux-x64.deb) | Already using Electron? **A new look. A new desktop app. Still your voices, on your machine.** VoiceStudio moves to **Electron** with v0.5.3: a redesigned workspace for voice cloning, voice design, stories, dubbing, and transcription. Electron is now the primary desktop app on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Local voice creation still runs on your own hardware, without a required account or API key. ![VoiceStudio's new Electron interface: voice cloning, saved voices, workspace navigation, and synthesis controls](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio/v0.5.3/docs/media/electron/voice-cloning.png) **Highlights** - A redesigned desktop with dedicated workspaces, collapsible navigation, and resizable sidebars (#1823, #2129) - Four-step setup with model packs and optional dictation configuration (#2129) - Better dubbing: zoomable timelines, saved translation direction, and background sound preserved around dialogue (#2129) - A simpler Model Catalogue and one-click installs for VoxCPM2, MOSS-TTS-Nano, and CosyVoice 3 (#2013, #2021, #2022, #2025) - More reliable generation on older NVIDIA GPUs and live remote-worker CPU, GPU, and memory readings (#2135, #2155) ![The Electron dubbing workspace wi

**Highlights** - Supertonic-3 and PocketTTS show their license Accept button again, so they can be enabled (#2017) - An engine that can't run on your platform says so, instead of telling you to install it (#2018) - MOSS-TTS-v1.5, Confucius4-TTS, dots.tts, Supertonic-3 and PocketTTS install in one click, each in its own environment, so switching engines and back never breaks a working one (#2015, #2016) - A pronunciation entry that is stored but not applied yet says so, instead of looking like it did not match (#1949) - A bare 500 report now names the backend error class, so two unrelated faults stop filing the same issue (#1773) - A rejected dubbing source language now names the code it rejected (#1960) - The first-run install log is kept on disk instead of vanishing with the setup screen (#1847) - `bun run desktop` reclaims port 3900 from a backend the app itself left running, instead of refusing to start (#1974) - A dictation shortcut another app already owns now says so, instead of silently doing nothing (#1858) - Quitting on Windows is no longer reported as a crash on the next launch (#1898) - A Reduce motion switch in Settings, for calm without changing your whole system (#18
