Quick answers

What is GhostTrack?
A lightweight, Python-based OSINT framework for tracking digital footprints via usernames, phone numbers, and IPs.
What does GhostTrack do?
GhostTrack is an open-source intelligence (OSINT) utility built to help security researchers quickly gather information regarding digital identities. It aggregates data by scanning public APIs and social media platforms to track specific targets based on their username, IP address, or mobile phone number. The framework is designed for speed and simplicity, offering a straightforward menu-driven interface suitable for environments like Linux and Termux. By combining multiple search vectors, it allows investigators to rapidly build a profile of a target's online presence and identify potential compromised accounts across various digital platforms.
Who is GhostTrack for?
Security researchers, penetration testers, and OSINT investigators requiring a fast, lightweight reconnaissance tool.
How do I get started with GhostTrack?
git clone https://github.com/HunxByts/GhostTrack.git && cd GhostTrack && pip3 install -r requirements.txt && python3 GhostTR.py
How popular is GhostTrack on GitHub?
HunxByts/GhostTrack has 16,999 stars and 2,316 forks on GitHub, and gained 1,837 stars in the last 7 days.

Security researchers, penetration testers, and OSINT investigators requiring a fast, lightweight reconnaissance tool.

  • Multi-vector tracking: Supports distinct search modes for IP addresses, phone numbers, and usernames across various online platforms.
  • Social media reconnaissance: Rapidly scans numerous social platforms to identify where a specific username is currently registered or active.
  • Termux compatibility: Fully optimized to run on mobile environments via Termux, enabling on-the-go OSINT gathering.
  • External tool integration: Designed to seamlessly combo with other security tools, such as Seeker, to enhance IP tracking capabilities.
  • Menu-driven interface: Provides a clean, easy-to-use console interface that simplifies the reconnaissance process for novice investigators.

Where teams use it

Threat intelligence gathering

Security analysts rapidly scan multiple platforms to track the online footprint of a specific threat actor using a known alias.

Penetration testing recon

Red teams deploy the tool during the initial reconnaissance phase to map out a target organization's employee social media presence.

Digital footprint auditing

Privacy advocates audit their own online exposure by tracking their usernames and phone numbers to see what data is publicly accessible.

Mobile field investigation

Investigators utilize the Termux compatibility to perform rapid OSINT gathering directly from their mobile devices while in the field.
